Journey
Friday, May 26, 2006 - Getting there is always a journey. As we embark on this journey I feel like the unlikely band of travelers brought together by fate as in the Lord of the Rings. A teacher passionate about language and culture, a nurse longing to help, an engineer with a couselors heart, a student ready to take the stage, a creative student pastor with dreams and me. A group that God has put togethe and who now embark on a journey to serve those who are hurting so far away.A Long Flight and A Good Read
Saturday, May 27 - It's been a long series of flights that have lead to Singapore! I have enjoyed the time to read, reflect and relax. I've read a series of books that have challenged my thinking and my life. One of them is Practicing Greatness by Reggie McNeal. It is a book about the seven disciplines of extraordinary spiritual leaders; the other book was Change The World by Robert Quinn on how ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary results. The later has especially poignant in his chapter on confronting the hypocritical self, oooch! This one will take a while.
