Retreat, Rest, Restore, Relate

I'm at Camp Alan about an hour from Katy. The Fellowship Elders are on retreat. We are stepping back to look at the long view, welcome two new Elders to the team, build relationships and team, rest our bodies, restore our spirits.

Last night we talked about team dynamics, myers briggs, situational leadership, decision making and functioning as a team. It is a wonderful to see how different we all are yet how we are the same. Understanding that God has brought us together to serve Christ and his church.

These guys are special. I gave each them a serung and peci (a man skirt from Indonesia and a hat worn by the peasants) A reminder of prayer and identification with the poor.

Communion is a special time of remembering all that God has done. We took communion by sharing a common cup, a common loaf and a comment of appreciation; one word that came to mind about the person who was taking of the cup and bread.

This morning we ran 4 miles, swam in the pool and then ate breakfast. This is the day that the Lord has made and I am glad in it.
