They Grow Up

This week we have been traveling. We took Allison to visit Samford University in Birmingham Alabama. A school with a rich history, a beautiful campus nesseled in between the lasts hills of the lower Appalacians and a theater arts program that allows for a missional focus. I've been down this road once before when we took Emily to OBU (Oklahoma Baptist University) in Shawnee Oklahoma. I find that as a dad, I am feeling the sweet pain of watching them grow up. It is a pride mixed with pain, as I know all too soon they will all be gone and the conversations will be fewer and their expereinces will become more thier own and less shared.

On the way back we stopped at Lousiana College to see Emily who is working for a summer camp ministry called Centrikid. They travel to University campuses every week. She is the worship leader and is loving it. We got up early and took her to breakfast while we listened to all the God is teaching her and how she is growing as a leader and learner. She is growing up! Allison is close behind! Wesley is fast becoming a man. They grow up and it is way too fast.
